Covid 19 Infomation

 

Due to the Pandemic, we are severely limiting in-office appointments.

 

Most appointments will be either by phone or video link as appropriate.

 

Please call 519-759-6116 before coming to the office.

 

You may also use our email, reception@northwoodlands.com.

 

Please remember email is not necessarily secure and by using email as a method of communication you have consented to the risks inherent with non-secure communication. Detailed consents will be posted later.

 

Our usual policy is that email response time is up to 7 days. However, due to the changes brought about by the Covid pandemic, we will attempt to answer emails in 1-2 business days. 

EMAIL should not be used for any acute issues that would reasonably require urgent assessment or even same day assessments. 

Email is only checked during usual business hours NOT after hours or on weekends or holidays.

Dr. Maria L. Deleon-Matsuda received her M.D. degree from the University of the Philippines in Manila. She completed the Residency in General Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the Philippine General Hospital, and practiced as a Surgeon/Surgical Oncologist for 7 years.  She and her family moved to Canada, and shortly after that she completed Residency in Family Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton in 2011.                            
                                                                               
Dr. Deleon-Matsuda has received the Dr. Ben Finkelstein Award by the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University "for exhibiting a compassionate nature and a commitment to treatment of families, with special emphasis on family counselling and treatment".                 
                  
Dr. Deleon-Matsuda is an active member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and holds an independent license to practice issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).                                                                                                                                                                              
Dr. Deleon-Matsuda prefers to be simply called "Dr. Maria". She has called Brantford her home since 2003 and is privileged to serve the people in her community.

The Office is closed each day from 12:30 to 1:20 pm for lunch/staff meetings.

 

Phone hours will vary phone lines open at 9 am and close

at 4 pm except for Fridays when they close at 3:00 pm. These hours are subject to change.

Busy times are between 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

NEW EXTENDED AFTER HOURS SERVICE!

 

As of April 1, 2019, the after hours clinic, located in D wing at the Brantford General Hospital Has moved to 217 Terrace Hill Street, right opposite the main entrance of the Brantford General Hospital

Hours are 5:00 to 7:45 MON to Friday and 10:00 am to 12:45 SAT AND SUN.

NOTE:

Due to COVID 19

all patients presenting to the after hours clinic will need to call when they reach the door to be screened prior to entry. The phone number is posted on the door to the clinic.
